Command and Conquer, a series of sci-fi and military real-time strategy games, was a refreshing change in an era of empire builders and historical strategy games. Nearly all games such as war and order, allowed players to join an advanced technological faction and fight for resources. They could also battle against their opponents in intense real-time battles. Quite a few Command-and-Conquer-like games have been released for the PC. Here are amazing real-time strategy PC games.

Direct Action: Act of War

game

Act of War: Direct Action, a geopolitical thriller. The game features a story straight out of Tom Clancy’s novel and stunning cinematic cut-scenes. It offers thrilling moments in a series of campaign missions that are challenging. You will be reminded of Command and Conquer Red Alert 2’s amazing live-action videos. Direct Action’s first trailer shows what lies ahead for strategy gamers: hostage situations, global terrorist attacks, and powerful agencies trying to overthrow government governments.

It offers a Hollywood-esque setting and a lot of plot twists. Level design allows you to perform tactical missions, where you are given a few infantry units to complete the mission. C&C Generals-style strategy mechanics are used in the game. You can enter buildings and use heavy snipers against RPG-equipped terrorists. The game is a classic RTS but it has some innovative elements that make it more exciting and engaging.

Tom Clancy’s EndWar

C&C Red Alert, and other military-themed strategy games, presented a “what if” scenario of the Cold War. EndWar by Tom Clancy offers another view of the struggle between Western Bloc and Soviet Bloc countries. Although the sequence of events that triggers the Cold War is impossible to believe, Endwar will be loved by players.

EndWar allows you to command upgradable military units, just like any RTS game. RTS elements adhere to the rock-paper,-scissors model. Although the traditional RTS model may be disappointing for gamers, it allows little room to maneuver. However, the game can still be entertaining and may appeal to those who are skilled in hotkey-dependent RTS battles.

Dune II

gamersCommand and Conquer has been called the spiritual successor to Dune II. It laid the foundation for many popular real-time strategy games. It was released in 1992, and it is widely regarded as one of the best RTS games ever.

Although some real-time games such as Stonkers and Herzog Zwei were released before Dune II was launched, the latter is well-known for its key gameplay elements that were later integrated into many RTS games. These include the tech tree, the use of mobile units as building blocks, various types of factions, and their unique weapons and abilities.
