Comments Policy
No CommentsI’m using a Page to talk about posting comments on Container Garden 411 so we are all on this same page in this area. I was reading another blog that talked about about how we (me included) view and use the comment section on blogs. These ranged from ignoring them completely to posting irrevelant comments.
I know that there are many ways a person can choose to comment. Myself like other bloggers have standards of what is and what isn’t acceptable on their blog. Some allow any kind of commenting – others have language standards, some don’t allow signatures, etc. I don’t care about all the different approachers, however I want to you to feel good about leaving a comment and I want to feel good about receiving your comment. So here is where I stand:
1. I welcome comments on this blog - they are as important as anything I write and you read. Comments help us all become more knowledgable and broaden the community of gardeners that we have here. So if you want to comment, you’re absolutely welcomed to do so. Doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or an expert- have at it.2. I delete spam - I hate, despise, yuk spam. I have spam filters that automatically catch most automated spam comments. If any get through, and my eye doesn’t miss it, they are deleted immediately.3. Relevant links in comments are actively encouraged - if you’re leaving a comment on my blog and want to point to your own link or someone else’s site that is relevant go ahead and do it. This improves the blog and makes the conversation better.4. Irrelevant links are not encouraged - if you leave a comment with a link in it that has no relevance to the post you’re commenting on it will be be deleted. If you do this, it only affects your reputation. If you do this on multiple posts, I’ll consider it spam.5. I allow signatures in comments - I won’t delete comments with signatures as long as the comments were relevant and have added value to the conversation.
Leaving a comment is the same as, filling out a customer card, getting feedback from someone you care about, visiting my home. I want Container Garden 411 to be the place you enjoy to visit, have a conversation, gain knowledge, share knowledge (experience). Just the best dang place to get information on the internet. That’s it. That simple.
